MEET THE CREW
Guided by Experience: At the Helm
Captain Ryan Matthew brings a steady hand and a warm spirit to every voyage aboard AQUA LIFE. Originally from South Africa, Ryan holds a Yachtmaster Offshore license and has been leading the crew since April 2025. With years of experience navigating yachts such as M/Y Caffeine, M/Y Wreckless, and M/Y Island Cowboy, his favorite cruising grounds include the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Grenada, Croatia, and Greece—destinations he knows well for their stunning waters and natural beauty.
Before entering the world of yachting, Ryan worked as a commercial diver. Today, he brings that same level of focus and adventure to the charter experience, along with his certification as a Divemaster. Fluent in English, Ryan is not only a skilled captain but also a dedicated parent who enjoys fishing and team sports when off duty.
For Ryan, the ideal charter is all about synergy: “Great weather, clear water, amazing food, cocktails, and a crew who can put it all together.” As he likes to share, “I’m a former commercial diver—and I’ve had some of my best days tuna fishing up north.”
